The Government of Ireland had paused the processing of applications under the Working Holiday Scheme (WHS) arrangement between Ireland and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Government of Ireland has recently announced that the processing of applications under the aforementioned WHS arrangement will be resumed. Eligible Hong Kong youth may submit their applications for working holiday visas with effect from 3 July 2023 (Monday).
